Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Strait (the "Game"), operated by Strait ("we", "us"). By creating an account or playing Strait, you agree to these Terms.

1. Who can use Strait

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission to use Strait. Strait involves live video and audio with other players — use age- appropriate judgment about who you play with.

2. Your account

• You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for anything that happens under your account.
• You may play as a guest without an account. Guest progress (XP, cosmetics) is not saved and is lost when you close the game.
• Display names and avatars must not impersonate others, contain contact information, or contain content that would violate section 4 below.

3. How matches work

Strait matches you with other players — either randomly ("Quick match") or with people you invite ("Party room"). Video and audio between players connects directly between your devices (peer-to-peer); we do not record, store, or view your camera or microphone feed. Facial expression detection used to judge the game runs entirely on your own device and is never sent to our servers. See our Privacy Policy for details.

4. Acceptable use

While playing Strait, you agree not to:

• Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other players
• Show sexual, violent, illegal, or otherwise inappropriate content on camera or in chat
• Record or distribute other players' video/audio without their consent
• Impersonate another person, or misrepresent your age
• Use bots, scripts, or modified clients to cheat or manipulate match outcomes or XP
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to our systems

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, at our discretion, without notice. Strait does not currently have an in-app report button — if another player behaves inappropriately, leave the match and contact us at flagstickcollective@gmail.com.

5. XP, ranks, and cosmetics

XP, ranks, and cosmetic items ("Strait Pass" rewards, unlocked items, etc.) have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for real money, and are not transferable between accounts. We may reset, adjust, or remove XP, ranks, or items at any time — for example to fix bugs, prevent cheating, or rebalance the game. Some matches stake a small amount of XP between signed-in players ("ante") which the winner collects; this is an in-game score mechanic only, not gambling with real value.

6. Intellectual property

Strait's game design, code, art, and branding belong to us. You keep ownership of anything you say or show during a match, but by playing you grant other participants in that match a license to see and hear you live, as is inherent to how the Game works.

7. Disclaimers

Strait is provided "as is." We don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. Facial-expression detection is a best-effort judge, not a certified or perfectly accurate system — verdicts it produces are part of the game, not a guarantee of fairness in every round.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Strait, including anything another player says or does during a match. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount (if any) you've paid us in the past 12 months.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continuing to use Strait after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
